The United States Government has recently calibrated its focus on the issues relating to the Chinese clout in the Indo – Pacific region. In a recent policy statement, the US has made it clear that, although the engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan in the past have been strenuous and very time-consuming. But it is now evident that the US policy focus has shifted which will now proactively engage in the pursuit of curtailing the ever-growing Chinese dominance in the Indo – Pacific region. US President Joe Biden has reiterated that it will make strategic calibrations to stop China’s influence and clout.

 

Although US officials are fully aware of the impending threats of a protracted war in Russia over the Ukraine invasion issue, nevertheless, the USA will keep a very close observation in the Indo – Pacific region to stop China from gaining any further leverage. This new policy could herald a new Cold War.

 

A New Policy statement by the President of the United States made it certain that it will keep a sustained engagement in the region and which may see the increase of its Coast Guards in the region.
