Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), General Faiz Hameed, arrived in Saudi Arabia last week amid bruised relationship between the two countries. Pundits presuppose that the loss of the Saudi scaffolding will definitely add to Pakistan’s financial constraints in the coming days.

On the first anniversary of the rescindment of Article 370 by India, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi gave a TV interview where he spoke for Saudi Arabia, not complaisant Pakistan, over the issue of Kashmir and organised a meeting of the Council of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers (CFM) on Kashmir in early February 2020.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister had stated in his interview with a TV channel that unless the OIC convened a CFM meeting on Kashmir, Pakistan would be “forced to summon a meeting of OIC that is willing to support Pakistan with it on the issue of Kashmir and support the oppressed Kashmiri Muslims”.
The Minister acquiesced himself to be oscillated himself by empathy to cross the line when he said “Today Pakistanis, who are always ready to sacrifice their lives for Mecca and Madina, need Saudi Arabia to play a leading role on the Kashmir issue. If they are not willing to play that role, then I will ask Prime Minister Imran Khan to go ahead with or without Saudi Arabia.”
